Nelliyampathy hills

The Nelliyampathy hills [forest range] comprise a chain of ridges cut off from one another by valleys of dense evergreen forests and orange plantations. The height of the hills ranges from 467 meters to the tallest peak Padgiri looming at 1572 metres. Seethakundu at Nelliyampathy offers a fantastic view of the valley below a wide-angled vision of one-third of the entire Palghat area. The Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary sprawling over 285 sq. kms, is a neighbouring sanctuary, that shelters the largest population of wild Gaur (Bison). The hills of Nelliyampathy lie at a distance of 126 kms and take about 4 hours from Calicut.
